Shelbyville vs. Springfield In 1796 a group of pioneers leaves Maryland, heading towards a new place: New Sodom. The two learders of this group, Jebediah Springfield and Shelbyville Manhaten founded two towns: Springfield where people lived a life devoted to chastity, abstinence, and a flavorless mush I call rootmarm, and Shelbyville where people could marry their own cousins, and as Grandpa Simpsons said: "The town of Springfield was born on that day.
